June 12, 2009Baker's Furniture and Carpet will close its stores in Peabody and Park City, Kan., and relocate to new location in Newton, according to a Wednesday report from the Wichita Eagle.
The new 28,000-square-foot location, set to open by fall, will anchor the Chisholm Trail Center-Outlet & Retail Shops in Newton.
The company also owns Baker Funeral Home in Peabody, Valley Center and east Wichita.
A going-out-of-business sale is underway at the Park City furniture store, and a closing sale is scheduled for the Peabody location.
