Furniture First Names New Board Members

The Furniture First buying group elected its new board during the recent High Point Market.
Newly elected appointees are: Nick Cardi, Cardi's Furniture, Swansea, Mass.; Larry Schneiderman, Schneiderman's, Lakeville, Minn.; and Art Scholet, Scholet Furniture, Oneonta, N.Y.
Retiring board members are: Sam Fishbein, outgoing treasurer, Kacey Fine Furniture, Englewood, Colo.; Larry Kurpiewski, Commercial Home Furnishings, Boise, Idaho; and Steve Rotman, outgoing chairman, Rotmans, Worcester, Mass.
In addition, the group named its new officers. Jeff Winter of Discovery Furniture, Topeka, Kan. is the new chairman; Larry Smith of Smith Home Furnishings, Ponca City, Okla., is the new vice chairman; Beth Barnes of FurnitureLand, Delmar, Del., is the treasurer; and Russell Blocker, Blocker's Furniture, Ocala, Fla., is the secretary.
Furniture First is a home furnishings and mattresses buying cooperative representing independent home furnishings retailers from medium-low to medium-high end quality products across the U.S.
