GE Money, 1-800-Mattress Team for Consumer Financing

November 16, 2009
GE Money in Kettering, Ohio, the consumer lending unit of General Electric Company (NYSE:GE - News), and Long Island City, N.Y.-based 1-800-Mattress have launced a private label credit program that offers consumers a no annual fee line of credit with no down payment required and an optional customer payment protection plan.

The program is managed by GE Money's Sales Finance unit, which provides billions of dollars of consumer financing through more than 145,000 business locations across the United States.

"We're very excited to launch this new consumer credit program," said Joe Graci, chief financial officer for 1-800-Mattress. "Our company is famous for extraordinary customer service, so it was important that we have a financing partner that can match the level of customer service we provide. No one is better at consumer financing than GE Money."

The new 1-800 Mattress card will allow consumers to purchase the mattress of their choice from the company's wide selection of name brands and pay for it over time. Buyers also will receive information about special promotions that are available only to cardholders, and they can manage their credit account online at www.gemoney.com.

"We are very excited about this new partnership with 1-800 Mattress," said Paul Boeckman, vice president of sales, GE Money Sales Finance. "1-800 Mattress is an innovative, forward-thinking company.  We are pleased to provide them with promotional financing programs that match their level of service."
