December 2007
Wentworth Furniture, a high-end kitchen cabinet manufacturer based on Pompano Beach, Fla., has announced that it will move to an 18,400-square-foot facility in High Point, the city’s economic development office announced recently.
According to President Wayne Krobatsch, the company plans to hire approximately 30 employees locally in the next six months and transfer approximately 10 people from Florida to the new High Point facility before it begins production in May or June.
“Wentworth is just what we in High Point seek to continue to attract--quality furniture and home furnishing companies that can take advantage of our skilled workforce and the furniture-related synergies we offer by being the Home Furnishings Capital of the World,” said Loren Hill, president of the High Point Economic Development Corp.
Other companies that have made investments in High Point over the past year include La-Z-Boy, which opened a divisional office in the city last week. Also, Legacy Classic and Home Meridian International established headquarters in the city, and Lodging By Liberty and Marquis Seating set up manufacturing operations this year.
