Arson at Michigan Store Fire Last Month?
June 17, 2009Investigators said a fire last month that destroyed Discount Dave's Buy Rite Furniture store in Lansing, Mich., resulted from arson, but the store owner, Dave Sheets, disagreed with that finding, according to a report Tuesday from WLNS-TV.
Dave Sheets, owner of Discount Dave's Buy Rite, said in the report: "I know when they rated that somebody burned it down, obviously the public is going to look at Dave Sheets. Well, that's laughable, but anyway, people like to talk, I give them something to talk about."
Sheets, who believes the investigation has been mishandled, has hired his own team of investigators, and doesn't think the cause was arson.
"Look out, be ready, because I will have an announcement for you here, hopefully very soon," he said in the report. "It won't take my investigation as long as its taking these poor people. I feel sorry for them. They're making me look bad. This is disgusting, it's ridiculous."
