Kmart Adds Outdoor Furniture to Jaclyn Smith Home
March 11, 2009
The Jaclyn Smith Home collection at Kmart is adding patio furniture to its lineup this spring.
In addition to the casual furniture, the collection will also include tabletop and décor and textiles in the collection will be updated with fresh florals and elegant patterns in the Today and Traditions collections.
"In developing the expanded Jaclyn Smith line, it was important to me that customers be empowered to create an entire living space from my home collection—whether it be a dining area, a bedroom and adjoining bath, or a beautiful outdoor getaway," Smith said. "My home is my sanctuary, characterized by timeless and elegant style with a contemporary twist. I like to think we've expanded our collection to help customers put it all together as if they had a personal interior designer—all within a budget that works."
The casual furniture includes three collections—Kingston collection, five-piece dining for $649.99 or seven-piece at $699.99; Winfield collection, four-piece seating set for $499.99; and Elmhurst collection, five-piece dining for $299.99.
For 20 years, Smith and Kmart have teamed up to create apparel and home collections. The Jaclyn Smith Home collection was introduced at Kmart in August, 2008 and included bath and bedding. The introduction coincided with an expansion of Smith's fashions in apparel, jewelry, footwear and handbags.
"Jaclyn Smith's appeal has only increased over time and her collections have never been more relevant," said Doug Wurl, VP/GMM of Home Fashions at Sears Holdings, Kmart's parent. "When Jaclyn Smith introduced a cashmere sweater for less than $30 during the holiday season, it became the number one seller of all products offered online. That was a strong signal to us that customers will continue to respond positively to exceptional products if they are priced right."
