Klaussner's Davis Wins Local Honor

JB Davis, president and CEO of Klaussner Home Furnishings, Asheboro, N.C., has been named the Asheboro/Randolph Chamber of Commerce's 2008 Citizen of the Year, the county's top honor for community service.
Chamber Chairperson Kaye Bryan, who presented the award at a recent ceremony, called the Randolph County native "a valuable asset to our community who has served in many different capacities and remained actively involved in the ongoing activities and development of our community."
Davis is a major supporter of the Senior Adults Association, Randolph Hospital, Randolph Community College, Hospice of Randolph County, the Asheboro/Randolph Chamber of Commerce, the North Carolina Zoo Society, the Randolph County United Way, Crime Stoppers, the Asheboro/Randolph YMCA and many other charities and organizations. He also played a major role in the creation of the Merce Clinic, a facility that offers medical and dental services to low income and uninsured residents of Randolph County. Davis has also served on the boards of High Point University, the High Point Home Furnishings Market, American Home Furnishings Alliance, Wachovia Bank and Unifi Corp.
"I feel mighty blessed," said Davis at an awards ceremony late last month."Our company’s goal is to be the best we can be and we work hard every day to keep jobs in this community."
