Wallner to Lead Powell Furniture Division
November 7, 2012Accent, youth and casual dining furniture vendor Powell Co. has named Jeffrey Wallner president of its furniture division, a new position.
Wallner has been in the furniture business for 24 years, most recently with World Imports, where he served as executive vice president for the past six years. His responsibilities there included overseeing a large national sales force, a marketing department, a merchandising team and an overseas team. During Wallner's tenure, he expanded the product line to include import upholstery and created an Asia infrastructure. World Imports was able to add many of the top 100 retailers as customers, helping it double in size.
At Powell, Culver City, Calif., Wallner is responsible for sales, marketing and merchandising.
“Powell has always been one of those names in the furniture business that is very well known by dealers and consumers," Wallner said.
“Powell’s Furniture division is back on a growth track and regaining the luster it lost under previous management teams run by private equity firms," said Powell CEO Jim Ziozis. "Jeff’s talents will drive Powell Furniture to the next level of providing dealers with excellent home fashions at outstanding price points.”
Ziozis said that Powell’s team handling multi-channel, specialty, big-box and e-commerce retailers will continue to report to Executive Vice President Dave Gingrich.
