Kindel Furniture CEO Departing
March 3, 2009
Jonathan Smith, CEO and president of Kindel Furniture Co., Grand Rapids, Mich., will leave his post by mid-March, The Grand Rapids Press reported on Tuesday.
The report said that a letter from Smith to Kindel customers indicated that Jim Fisher will be new CEO. Fisher is on the board of the family business that owns Kindel since 1964, Fisher Properties of Indiana Inc. in Muncie.
Smith, a former banker, was a financial consultant to Kindel before being named interim CEO in January 2007.
Amy Wolbert, director of marketing and customer relations; Jay Paschall, vice president sales and product development; and Dennis Patterson, vice president operations and finance, remain on the executive team.
"He had come in to do this temporarily, so it wasn't a surprise," Wolbert said in the report.
