Lane Goes Mobile Again
October 14, 2009
Lane Home Furnishings looks to help retailers increase store traffic and enhance the home entertainment shopping experience by using its mobile showroom to offer its Lane Home Entertainment Tour for a second year. The continued relationship brings Lane’s innovative design and product offerings to the forefront while strengthening the company’s position as the leader in home entertainment and family room furniture.
The Lane Home Furnishings Entertainment Tour was first introduced to retailers in October 2008. The 1,000-square-foot custom-built, 18-wheel mobile showroom traveled 26,000 miles across the United States, making stops at more than 98 retail locations and helping increase local daily Lane sales by 38 percent. Starting this year and into the fall of 2010, the state-of-the-art mobile showroom will travel again to about 60 locations including national and local consumer events. The tour promises the best home entertainment furniture options available combined with the newest electronic solutions from Samsung.
"We are committed to owning home entertainment," said Greg Roy, president of Lane Home Furnishings. "By extending our Lane Mobile Tour into 2010 we will continue to help our retail partners drive traffic and engage their customers across the country. The objective of our truck tour is to provide an exciting shopping experience and motivate consumers while showcasing Lane innovation and home entertainment furniture designed with families in mind."
As part of the 2010 tour experience, Lane has adopted a new tag line, "Entertain, Engage, Escape," to further show how the company provides a well-rounded entertainment experience including numerous furniture, electronic and room design options. The tour showcases two rooms with a modern, yet neutral design, and a third room that recreates the look and feel of a real movie theater in a home theater setting.
Additional tour offerings include: games and chances to win prizes including a sweepstakes for $2,000 of free Lane furniture; two tents, one with various styles of individual recliners and a kid zone complete with a Wii gaming system; the second features retailer-select Lane items available in the store; in-store photo experience in which the consumer is invited to take a picture while lounging in a recliner in front of a green screen. The consumer can then retrieve their picture at home on the Lane Web site and insert themselves into a variety of fun background settings all while pictured sitting in a Lane recliner.
Lane Home Furnishings also will partn with select retailers to designate and donate furniture to local charities, bringing the joy of Lane Home Entertainment to families in need. Visitors to the tour will get the chance to vote on the room set-up to be donated. Details about the charity donation will vary by market.
