Martha Stewart Toasts Wine Venture

Martha Stewart Introduces Wine and Food Lines

September 2007
Martha Stewart has brewed up a plan to launch “Martha Stewart Vintage” wine to fill the cabinets of fans who have already bought her line of signature furniture or have moved into new homes she’s designed.

The new wines Stewart created together with E. & J. Gallo Winery of Modesto, Calif., will sell for about $15 a bottle when the label debuts in January in six U.S. cities, according to news reports. The initial release of Chardonnay, Cabernet and Merlot will total about 15,000 cases. According to reports, Stewart also has announced a line of frozen foods that will be sold at Costco stores.

The food and wine news comes as KB Home announced the opening of the first housing development it built together with Stewart. The neighborhood in Ormond Beach, Fla., is called Home Deer Creek: Homes Created with Martha Stewart. With homes “starting in the low $300s,” it is the first of nine signature communities KB has planned in six states.
