Myriad Offers Web-based Solution for Retailers
September 16, 2009
Myriad Software has introduced an Internet-based technology solution for retailers that allows software and data to run applications housed on Web servers nearly eliminating system outages.
The product, called CLOUD, is accessible from a Web browser 24/7.
“Basically we provide the solution that frees retailers from a host of costly problems,” said Carolyn Crowley, Myriad’s president and co-founder. According to Crowley, Myriad’s CLOUD has a five-fold advantage:
“The home furnishings industry has to keep up with technology,” she said. “Myriad is always looking for ways to make furniture retailers more efficient, offering economical solutions, and providing retailers with the capability to monitor business wherever they go.”
- Saves on the cost of new hardware—It’s not necessary to replace equipment every few years. CLOUD means retailers “rent” processing resources or capabilities instead.
- Stores and backs up data worry-free—CLOUD keeps data secure. Businesses don’t have to institute back-up procedures. CLOUD offers very quick recovery, too.
- Eliminates downtime—Operating with CLOUD lets Myriad update operating systems and increase disk space or memory whenever necessary. It’s business as usual for retailers every hour of every day.
- Keeps retailers on top of business anywhere, anytime—The only requirement is Internet accessibility. For many retailers, CLOUD means leaving the laptop at home or in the office and still being able to monitor business fully.
- Maintains a software/data connection without interruption—If a server goes down or a natural disaster occurs, retailers can get all their software/data from another location in just a few minutes without having to wait or to replace equipment.
