New Martha Stewart Community Announced

November 2006
Design maven Martha Stewart has announced plans for a second subdivision featuring her home plans near Atlanta, according to an announcement released Thursday by Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia and KB Home.

Officials said the new community named Wynwood will open in the spring of 2007. A Martha Stewart community called Hampton Oaks opened in Fairburn, Ga., in July. “The success of the Hampton Oaks community was the driving force in our decision to offer a second Martha Stewart community in the Atlanta area,” said Larry Lippincott, president of KB Home’s Atlanta division.

Martha Stewart, well-known for her television shows and magazines dedicated to the domestic arts, has a furniture line that is produced by Bernhardt. In addition to Hampton Oaks, there is a Martha Stewart community in Cary, N.C., and plans call for a second project in the Raleigh, N.C., area, as well as new neighborhoods in Katy, Texas; and Perris, Calif.

Stewart’s design influence in the homes extends to flooring, fixtures, paint colors, cabinetry. Model homes feature Stewart’s furniture and other decorative touches.
