Upstate N.Y. Store Closes
June 22, 2009A 70,000-square-foot furniture store in Amsterdam, N.Y., owned by Northeast Home Inds. closed last week, according to a Schenectady Daily Gazette report.
Ken Rose, director of the Montgomery County Planning and Economic Development Department, said in the report that Northeast Home Industries closed after a year and a half in business. The joint venture's five partners include Steve Quirion of Glens Falls-based Bare Bones Furniture Inc. in Glen Falls.
Northeast Home Industries received a $125,000 loan from the Montgomery County Industrial Development Agency to build its inventory. Rose told the paper Northeast hasn't missed a payment, but still owes more than $100,000. Full payment is due by the end of month.
