On-Stage Interview with Martha Stewart at High Point Furniture Market to be Followed by Questions and Answers

March 2008
Martha Stewart will speak about home decorating and her design inspirations during an appearance at the High Point Market on Tuesday, April 8, beginning at 7 p.m. in the High Point Theatre. The founder of Martha Stewart Omnimedia, Stewart will be launching a new collection with Bernhardt Furniture, which launched its first Stewart line in 2002.

In the event sponsored by the International Home Furnishings Center (IHFC) in cooperation with the High Point Market Authority, Stewart will take questions from an audience of retailers and designers following an onstage discussion with interior designer Stephen Sills.

“I am delighted to be addressing this audience and sharing my ideas about home decorating and design, which are reflected in our offerings at the Spring Market in High Point,” she said in a news release Tuesday. “I’m looking forward to talking about (design) inspirations and our creative vision with an audience that shares my passion for high-quality design.”

IHFC President and CEO Tom Lindh said, “We are thrilled to offer our guests, customers, registrants and tenants this unique opportunity to hear Martha’s personal thoughts on home design and MSLO’s expanding home decorating portfolio. Martha Stewart is coming to the High Point Market because High Point is the home for her home furnishings lines.”

In addition to Stewart’s Bernhardt line, Murray Feiss will be displaying a Martha Stewart lighting line and Safavieh will be showcasing a signature rug collection at the Market, which kicks off April 7.

In addition to producing the magazines Martha Stewart Living and Martha Stewart Weddings, she hosts the nationally television series “The Martha Stewart Show” and produces best-selling books like Martha Stewart’s Homekeeping Handbook.

“This special Martha Stewart event is part of one of the most extraordinary lineups of educational and social events in the history of the High Point Market: The World’s Home for Home Furnishings,” said Brian Casey, president and CEO of the High Point Market Authority.
