Partlow and Shaw Join Harden Furniture as Environmental Engineer and CFO, Respectively

June 2008
Richard Partlow and Richard Shaw have joined high-end case goods and upholstery manufacturer Harden Furniture, McConnellsville, N.Y., as new environmental, health and safety engineer, and as chief financial officer, respectively. Both report to company President Greg Harden.

In his new position, Partlow plays a vital role in Harden’s commitment to sustainable and environmentally responsible furniture manufacturing, and is responsible for compliance with federal, state and local environmental, health and safety regulations.

Partlow also will research, determine impact and respond appropriately to all environmental, health and safety issues, as well as facilitate and participate in a variety of environmental, health and safety inspections. He comes to Harden with a 20-year career in environmental management, most recently with ENSR Corp., an international environmental consulting and engineering firm, where he spent the past 16 years. “Richard Partlow is a great asset to Harden, bringing years of professional environmental management experience to us,” Harden said. “We’ve been committed to environmental responsibility for generations, so this is an incredibly important role within our company. We’re glad to have someone with Rick’s insight, knowledge and wisdom on the subject oversee this division.”

CFO Shaw comes to Harden with 18 years of experience, most recently with US Datanet Corp., where he was senior vice president, CFO, secretary and treasurer. Shaw began his career as a public accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Syracuse, N.Y., and is a certified public accountant with the state of New York.

In addition to directing Harden’s accounting and financial reporting, Shaw also will advise management and the board of directors on all financial matters affecting the company.

“We are thrilled to have Richard Shaw with us as our new chief financial officer,” Harden said. “He is a results-oriented individual with a proven track record, and we’re confident his skills will help take Harden to the next level.”
