Jay Paschall Named Vice President at Kindel

Paschall to Direct Product Development, Global Sales at Kindel

High-end furniture manufacturer Kindel Furniture Co., Grand Rapids, Mich., has named Jay Paschall to the new position of vice president of new product development and global sales. Paschall, 46, has a long career with high-end vendors, most recently as CEO of Sherrill Furniture, Hickory, N.C., a position he left this summer.

Prior to joining Sherrill in April, Paschall served three years as director of new product development and merchandising at Baker, Knapp and Tubbs in Hildebran, N.C., where he developed product lines of furniture and accessories, managed outside designer and licensee relationships, and directed merchandising for company-owned showrooms and stores.

He also spent five years at Hickory Chair Co., Hickory, N.C,. where his responsibilities included wood furniture development from initial concept to product introduction, production of the company’s catalog and price lists, and sales territory management throughout the United States. From 1984 to 1998, he held several positions in the sales department at the Baker Furniture Co. when it was headquartered in Grand Rapids.

“Jay has extensive experience in the merchandising and marketing aspects of launching product lines that will greatly assist us as we serve new customers in Japan, Russia and Eastern Europe, and the Middle East,” said Kindel President and CEO Jonathan Smith. “We are very pleased to have someone with Jay’s wide-ranging experience on our team as we enter this exciting phase of Kindel Furniture’s history.”
