Raymour & Flanigan to Provide Back Pay
July 8, 2009The New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development said this week that Raymour & Flanigan Furniture, Liverpool, N.Y., must give more than 500 delivery workers $2 million in back overtime pay, the Star-Ledger reported on Tuesday.
The retailer, which has 15 New Jersey locations, had claimed that the workers were part of a separate trucking company and should be paid a different overtime rate than retail workers.
A court, however, ruled in March that the workers in question were part of the retailer.
