Kathy Ireland Breaks Up with Standard
February 20, 2009Kathy Ireland Worldwide and Standard Furniture, which have partnered on a line of case goods since 2001, have ended their business relationship, the companies announced this week.
"Our partnership has been very rewarding," said Standard Chairman Billy Hodgson. "Together, we sold a lot of furniture. Kathy is a great person."
Kathy Ireland Worldwide began discussing a parting of ways more than a year ago, said Todd Evans vice president of sales and marketing for Standard.
"Standard Furniture regrets but understands KIWW's desire to reach a different place at this moment of their growth," Evans said. "It is a sad and powerful day for both companies. Kathy and her team are wonderful people. We are grateful that they agreed to wait until after the Las Vegas Market to announce the decision."
Todd Evans of Standard Furniture and Stephen Roseberry, president and COO of Kathy Ireland Worldwide will jointly contact customers to assure them of a smooth transition. Future plans for Kathy Ireland Worldwide and case goods furniture will be announced shortly.

We served many families. Our friendship will always continue. We wish Standard and it's management, employees and customers every success in this incredible industry. They are leaders in the furniture business and they will always lead and inspire."
KIWW also announced that it has extended its partnerships with Shaw Inds. for flooring, home office and entertainment with Martin Furniture, and lighting and accessories with Pacific Coast Lighting and Accessories through 2014.

"Shaw Industries, Pacific Coast Lighting and Kathy Ireland Home by Martin are powerful companies which fulfill our mission of finding solutions for families, especially busy moms."
KIWW also announced the promotion of Stephen Roseberry to president of Kathy Ireland Worldwide.
"It is a great day for Kathy Ireland Worldwide to experience Stephen Roseberry assume the Presidency of our company following his success in expanding our retail distribution and marketing agenda," Ireland said. "Stephen is a 20-year veteran of our company. He began this brand with me at my kitchen table. It is exciting to continue this journey with him."
