DOC Rescinds New Shipper Review of Marvin Furniture

January 10, 2012

The U.S. Department of Commerce has preliminarily rescinded a new shipper review of wood bedroom furniture from Chinese manufacturer Marvin Furniture.

According to a Federal Register announcement, Marvin doesn't qualify for a review new shippers of wood bedroom furniture from China covering the period Jan. 1-June 30, 2001 under a 2005 antidumping order because Marvin had shipped subject merchandise prior to the period of review that it did not report in its request for a new shipper review.

If the Department proceeds to a final rescission of Marvin Furniture's NSR, the assessment rate to which Marvin Furniture's shipments will be subject will not be affected by this review. The assessment rate, however, could change if the Department conducts an administrative review of the antidumping duty order on wood bedroom furniture from China for 2011.
