September 2008
Zenith Global Logisitcs has formed a new partnership with Hong Kong-based IDS Group, which will allow Zenith to expand its furniture, lighting and home décor warehousing, logistics and transportation services to 15 ports throughout Asia.
Zenith’s partnership with IDS gives home furnishings retailers and manufacturers access to logistics technology for inventory tracking and shipment status in real time.
“Because our goal is to provide end-to-end global logistics solutions for our home furnishing customers, IDS was the ideal company to partner with in Asia,” said Steve Wolfe, vice president of business development. “Zenith’s partnership with IDS means we can offer our customers seamless supply chain management.”
Wolfe said the technology will give customers 24/7 access to data on a variety of aspects, including delivery aging, inventory levels, shipment status, sales performance and other indicators.
Zenith Global Logistics is a total supply chain logistics provider specializing in international and domestic furniture warehousing, overseas transportation and domestic distribution, covering North America and the Caribbean. Zenith currently operates more than 4.5 million square feet of warehouse domestically with 11 locations in Southern California, Dallas Texas, North Carolina and Virginia. Zenith’s partnership with IDS adds to its supply chain network with access to these significant Asian ports: Shanghai/Yangshan, Hong Kong, Tianjin, Ningbo, Dalian, Yantian, Xiamen, Guangzhou, Qingdao, Shekou, Ho Chi Minh City, Cebu, Surabaya, Singapore and Kaoshuing.
IDS is a $1.3 billion company with more than 7,000 employees. The company currently operates more than 90 major distribution centers covering 10 million square feet. IDS is a member of the Li & Fung Group, and provides a menu of integrated distribution and logistics services across 11 countries covering Greater China, ASEAN, the United States and United Kingdom.
In addition to the partnership with IDS, Zenith has added four port locations in the Pacific Rim to expand its less-than-container service. With the four new ports, Zenith now has six no-minimum locations.
The new less-than-container offerings will be available in Shanghai; Ningbo, China; Tianjin, China; and Surabaya, Indonesia. The other two ports Zenith offers the service from are in Yantian, China; and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
