The Provence Collection, Miami, Fla., has acquired the former High Point showroom of Harden Furniture from W.P. Harrison, according to real estate transaction listing service Costar. The single-story, 10,584-square-foot showroom in the Hamilton/Wrenn district went for $1.2 million, or $113 per square foot. Harden, McConnellsville, N.Y., moved last to a new showroom in the 200 Steele building in time for last April’s High Point Market. Alan Weidt of Carolina Commercial Realty Inc. represented both parties in the transaction. Provence Collection, which specializes in French furniture styles, had been exhibiting in Showplace during the High Point Market.

Harden’s Completes Repairs, Remodelling In Wake of Showroom Fire

Only six weeks after sustaining extensive damage from a fire on Jan. 22, restoration of Harden Furniture’s 200 N. Hamilton showroom in High Point is complete in time for next week’s market, when Harden will launch a new environmental initiative, the Living Canopy Project. Smoke from the January electrical fire, which began in a storage area in the Harden showroom, destroyed most of the furniture and accessories in the showroom, as well as the carpet, walls, floors, phone systems, computers and other infrastructure. Other exhibitors in 200 N. Hamilton sustained damage, but none as extensive as Harden. No one was injured in the blaze.
